Uncapped Players of IPL 2019

The best of cricketers under one umbrella – that’s what the IPL was perceived to be when it inaugurated in 2008. But the mega event wasn’t just about eye-gushing celebrities and being star struck on mega cricketers. It was more about unknown domestic players getting a chance against global sportsmen. The game gave uncapped youngsters a chance to escalate, prove their mettle and match shoulder-to-shoulder with international players – a dream come true for every aspiring cricketer, which will help you in IPL Fantasy League 2019. This has made the IPL what it is today! Every year, there are many uncapped players whose lives change in a minute, who become millionaires in a minute, who make their dreams happen in a minute! This year was no different, as many uncapped players attracted a huge sum by going under the hammer. Let’s have a look at some of these Uncapped Players of IPL 2019.

1) Varun Chakravarty (KXIP) : The most-priced uncapped player of IPL 2019, Varun Chakravarty was grabbed by Kings XI Punjab for a whopping 8.4 crores. Having made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare trophy, Varun has been dubbed as the next ‘mystery spinner’, thanks to his 22 wickets in 9 matches. He was the highest wicket-taker for Tamil Nadu in that tournament. With the likes of Mujeeb Rehman and Ravi Ashwin, there’s plenty to gain for Varun as could be an asset for Punjab with his ‘mystery spin’.

It remains to be seen if he will be able to justify his huge price tag and the faith KXIP has bestowed on him. This season, the eyes would surely be on the Tamil Nadu cricketer as he unleashes his bowling skills before the world’s best T20 batsmen.

2) Shivam Dube (RCB): The Mumbai-based all-rounder was ecstatic after Royal Challengers Bangalore splurged their heart out for him in the auction to grab him for 5 crores. Shivam Dube, hailing from the city of the greatest cricketer of all time – Sachin Tendulkar, has been praised by none other than another great batsman, Sunil Gavaskar in a news article. The left-handed batsman is expected to provide stability in the lower middle-order and unleash his slog hitting in the death overs. Having made his debut for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Dube came to limelight after he hit Pravin Tambe for 5 sixes in one over in the Mumbai T-20 domestic league.

He is also a handy bowler and has claimed 21 wickets since his debut in Ranji Trophy last year. The young star sure should be potent to extend his extravagant domestic form into the IPL for the RCB this year.

3) Prabhsimran Singh (KXIP): The 17-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman grabbed eyeballs when he was taken by Kings XI Punjab for a staggering amount of 4.8 crores. Prabhsimran came in the news after smashing 298 runs in just 301 balls against Amritsar in the Punjab U-23 tournament. Many franchises had their eyes set on him before Punjab finally grabbed him. The fact that he idolizes Adam Gilchrist and Virender Sehwag show the kind of player he is. It would be exciting to see this young lad have a go and score freely against some world-class T-20 bowlers.

4) Akshdeep Nath (RCB): Akshdeep Nath is another interesting buy for Royal Challengers Bangalore, as they bought him for 3.6 crores. Nath is an all-in-one all-rounder who can even keep wickets.
